Am I allowed to bring my therapy animal to the Library?

Am I allowed to bring my therapy animal to the Library?

Answer

According to the Flagler College Disability Resource Handbook, An Emotional Support Animal provides therapeutic value to a person with a psychological or psychiatric disorder. These animals are covered by the Federal Fair Housing Act and are not permitted outside of the residence halls at Flagler College.

Thus, pets, comfort animals, emotional support animals, and therapy animals are not permitted in the library unless they are part of a library-sponsored program or event.

We kindly ask all our users to adhere to this policy to ensure a pleasant and safe library experience for everyone. If you have any questions or concerns regarding this policy, please contact Trina McCowan at tmccowan@flagler.edu
